Ameristar Construction in Chino, CA | San Bruno Construction
We provide independent Ameristar window, door, and patio system service across Chino, including both ZIP codes, 91708 and 91710. The one thing that makes our Ameristar work different here is the prep: we check for soil settlement on former dairy land and heat-cycled stucco before we ever fit a unit. That matters more in Chino than almost anywhere else in the Inland Empire. Call (866) 472-1908 to schedule a free estimate.
Why Chino Residents Choose Us for Ameristar Service
San Bruno Construction has handled Ameristar windows, doors, and patio systems in Chino’s older ranch homes and the Preserve’s newer tract builds, so we know how these units behave in real Inland Empire conditions. We’re an independent construction crew, not a manufacturer-authorized dealer. That means our recommendations come from installs and retrofits we’ve actually done here, not from a sales playbook.
Noel Carvalho, our owner, trained in construction technology and has spent two-plus decades running residential projects across San Mateo County before bringing that same full-scope approach to Chino work. He reads plans, understands load paths, and thinks through a project before a single tool comes out of the truck. That background matters when you’re deciding whether to repair hardware or correct a racked opening first. We lean OEM Ameristar parts when the frame is sound, and we’ll tell you straight when a replacement beats chasing parts. Common Ameristar Construction Problems We Solve in Chino
Here’s what we see most often when homeowners call us about Ameristar products in Chino:
- Warped sashes and broken weatherseal on west- and south-facing walls. Chino’s hot, dry summers and Santa Ana wind events cook vinyl sashes and frames. The vinyl expands and contracts enough to break the weatherseal contact, and then dust starts getting in. We replace weatherstrip and, when the sash is too far gone, source OEM Ameristar sashes to restore the seal.
- Sticking sliders in Preserve tract homes (91708). Post-construction settlement on former dairy land skews jambs and sash tracks, causing Ameristar sliders to stick within the first decade. We reset openings and install fresh OEM rollers before refitting the units.
- Water intrusion around original Ameristar installs in 1950s-1980s 91710 homes. Older Chino homes often had Ameristar windows screwed into unflashed stucco or drywall returns. Heat cycling opens gaps, and then winter rains find them. We flash and seal properly when we correct this.
- Sliding glass and patio doors that lose glide and latch alignment. Grit and heat degrade rollers and track hardware across both ZIP codes. We rebuild the track, replace rollers and locks with OEM Ameristar hardware, and realign the latch so the door actually locks.
- Out-of-square openings discovered during retrofit. This is the big one in the Preserve. A factory-size Ameristar unit won’t fit an opening that’s settled out of square. We check before we quote so you’re not surprised mid-job.
Ameristar Service in Chino: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment
Homes across the Chino Preserve (91708) sit on former dairy land where decades of irrigation and manure changed the soil. That’s not a local trivia footnote. It means Ameristar windows and doors we retrofit there get checked for out-of-square openings and post-construction settlement before we trust a factory-size unit to fit. On East Preserve Loop and similar streets, we’ve seen slabs shift enough to skew rough openings by half an inch or more. Half an inch doesn’t sound like much, but it’s enough to make an Ameristar MAXX slider bind in its track no matter how good the rollers are.
Older 91710 homes have a different but related issue. Original Ameristar installs on ranch-style properties from the 1960s and 1970s were frequently screwed directly into unflashed stucco. Decades of heat cycling open hairline gaps around the frame. The window looks fine from inside. Then wind-driven rain finds the gap, and you’re chasing water stains on the drywall. In Chino, the right fix often starts with the opening, not the window. That’s the difference between a repair that lasts and one that fails again in two years.
Ameristar Models & Products We Service in Chino
We service the full Ameristar residential lineup we’ve encountered across Chino, including the MAXX single-hung and slider vinyl windows, MAXX double-hung and horizontal sliders, hinged patio doors, sliding glass doors, and the replacement window line with low-E insulating glass. For parts, our approach depends on what’s still manufactured. We use OEM Ameristar hardware – sashes, rollers, locks, and weatherstrip – when the frame is sound, because OEM parts restore seal and operation without disturbing stucco. On out-of-production units, we go to tested aftermarket glass and trim. If frames or wall flashings are failing from heat or settlement, we tell you directly that full replacement beats continuing to patch.

AfterAmeristar Service Pricing in Chino
| Service | Typical Range |
|---|---|
| Window Replacement | $4,500 – $15,000 |
| Impact Window Installation | $8,000 – $25,000 |
| Roof Repair | $400 – $1,800 |
Roof repair shows up in this list because Ameristar window and door retrofits often expose flashing issues at the header. If we’re already pulling a unit and find a roof penetration leaking above it, we’ll flag it and quote it as part of the same job. A free estimate includes a look at the openings, the frames, and the flashing. Call (866) 472-1908 for an exact quote.

FAQs – Ameristar Construction in Chino
Why do my Ameristar windows rattle and stick more in Chino than they did in our old place?
Two local factors. First, Chino’s Santa Ana wind events and summer heat cycling stress vinyl frames far more than coastal or cooler climates. Second, if you’re in the Preserve (91708), your home sits on former dairy land where soil settlement can shift rough openings enough to bind window tracks. Both make Ameristar units behave worse here than they would elsewhere. The fix starts with checking the opening, not just swapping hardware. Call (866) 472-1908 and we’ll assess what’s actually happening.
Are your Ameristar window and door installs covered by the manufacturer’s warranty?
San Bruno Construction is an independent contractor, not an authorized Ameristar dealer or installer. We do not claim or imply any manufacturer warranty coverage on our work. What we do stand behind is our own workmanship on every install and retrofit. If you want to know what Ameristar itself covers, that’s a question for Ameristar’s warranty department, and we’ll help you find the right contact.
My 1960s Chino (91710) home has Ameristar sliders screwed into old stucco – should we repair or replace?
If the frames are still square and the stucco flashing is intact, repairing with OEM hardware usually makes sense. But many original installs in older Chino homes were never flashed properly, and decades of heat cycling have opened gaps that let water behind the stucco. In that case, replacement is the honest call. We’ll tell you which applies to your home after we look at it, and we won’t upsell you into a replacement if a repair is the right job. Call (866) 472-1908 for a straight assessment.
Does Chino require impact-rated windows, or is that only a Preserve/HOA thing?
Chino’s building code does not currently mandate impact-rated windows citywide. However, some Preserve HOAs have their own design standards that may require impact-rated or specific performance glass. We check HOA requirements before quoting any window replacement in 91708, and we’ll work with your association’s standards so you don’t get a surprise violation notice later.
Can Ameristar windows and doors tie into the roofing and flashing work we also need?
Yes, and in Chino it’s often the smartest way to schedule. Window and door retrofits frequently expose flashing issues at the header or roof line. If you need roof repair anyway, doing both at once means one mobilization, one flashing detail, and one contractor accountable for the whole envelope. We coordinate the trades so you don’t have to. Call (866) 472-1908 and we’ll look at the full scope.
